With an announcement on 3 November 2022 the Cyprus Registrar of Companies has notified the intention to proceed with the strike-off of all companies with unpaid annual levies for the period 2012 – 2021.
The intention for strike off for each company will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus and after three months all such companies will be deleted from the registry, unless a reason to the opposite is unveiled (i.e. objection by the Tax Department because of outstanding tax liabilities).
As per the provisions of the Cyprus Companies’ Law, the Registrar of Companies has the right to proceed to a strike-off if an annual levy remains unpaid on completion of one year from when it fell due.
