Based on a decree issued by the Council of Ministers, individuals with annual gross income below €19,500 are exempted from the obligation to submit an income tax return for 2020.
It is reminded that as from 2020, the submission of a personal income tax return is mandatory for all taxpayers, regardless of the level of their income. However, the Council of Ministers, has the power to set criteria based on which individuals with gross income not exceeding €19,500 would become exempted from the obligation to submit a tax return.
It is also reminded that the deadline for submission of the income tax return for 2020 has been extended to 30 September 2021.
